Wake up before dawn for the strenuous but rewarding hike to Kala Patthar ("Black Rock"). The climb offers the most iconic, unobstructed sunrise view of Mount Everest's summit. After this spectacular moment, return to Gorak Shep for breakfast and then begin the descent, heading down the valley to the village of Pheriche. Overnight at a teahouse.

Continue your descent through the Khumbu region, passing through Pangboche again and eventually making your way to the quieter village of Phortse. The trail provides different perspectives of the landscape as you lose altitude.Trek back to the Sherpa capital, Namche Bazaar. After days of high-altitude trekking, the relative hustle and bustle of Namche will feel welcoming. Enjoy a well-deserved rest, perhaps doing some last-minute souvenir shopping.

Three hours before your flight, Orbit Nepal Adventure team will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport. As you head home, you’ll carry unforgettable memories of the EBC and the warmth of the Himalayas.
Winter (December – February) is possible for experienced trekkers but very cold. Monsoon (June – August) is not recommended due to rain and low visibility.
The EBC Trek is graded as moderate to challenging. Trekkers should be able to walk 5-8 hours daily on hilly terrain. Prior cardiovascular training, stair climbing, and practice hikes are highly recommended.
Maximum altitude reached is 5,545m at Kala Patthar. Our itinerary includes two dedicated acclimatization days (Namche Bazaar and Dingboche) to help your body adjust and reduce the risk of altitude sickness.

Temperatures range from 15°C to 25°C in lower areas and can drop to -10°C or lower at higher altitudes, especially at night. Proper layered clothing is essential.

Electricity and Wi-Fi are available in most teahouses for a small fee. Mobile network coverage is generally good up to Dingboche.
